Clemont

Clemont (known as Citron in Japanese) is one of Ash Ketchum's main traveling companions during the Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ arcs in the anime. He is the Gym Leader of Lumiose City in the Kalos region, specializing in Electric-type Pokémon, and he awards the Voltage Badge to challengers who defeat him (or his robot stand-in, Clembot).

He is a young, brilliant inventor with a passion for science and technology, often creating quirky gadgets and machines stored in his backpack (which he calls his "Clemontic Gear"). His inventions frequently malfunction or explode spectacularly, leading to his recurring catchphrase: "The future is now, thanks to science!" Despite these mishaps, he is humble, caring, and determined.

Clemont travels alongside his energetic little sister Bonnie, who often tries to find potential wives for him (much to his embarrassment). He is shy, somewhat awkward in social situations, not particularly athletic (he struggles with running), and deeply protective of his family and friends. His main Pokémon partners include Heliolisk (his ace), Chespin, Luxray, and Dedenne (who is mostly looked after by Bonnie).

Overall, Clemont is portrayed as the nerdy, kind-hearted genius of the group who grows more confident as a trainer and person through his adventures with Ash, Serena, and Bonnie.
