Sophocles

Sophocles (Japanese name: Mamane) is one of Ash Ketchum's classmates at the Pokémon School in the Alola region during Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon.

He's portrayed as a short, somewhat chubby young boy with spiky orange hair, who is highly intelligent and passionate about technology. Sophocles excels at inventing gadgets and machinery, often tinkering with devices (sometimes powered by his Electric-type Pokémon). He's a bit of a science and programming nerd, with a particular affinity for Electric-types—he frequently jokes about disassembling things like the Rotom Pokédex to "improve" them.

Personality-wise, he's generally enthusiastic about his inventions and battles, though he can be shy or fearful in certain situations (like being afraid of the dark). His main partner Pokémon is Togedemaru (an energetic Electric/Steel-type often seen out of its Poké Ball), and he later acquires and evolves a Charjabug into Vikavolt.

As part of the group, he joins Ash, Lana, Mallow, Kiawe, and Lillie in school adventures, trials, and as an Ultra Guardian. He makes occasional appearances in later series like Pokémon Journeys.
