Alder

Alder is the former Champion of the Unova region's Pokémon League in the Pokémon anime (primarily appearing in the Black & White series).

He's depicted as a tall, powerfully built older man with long, flaming red hair tied back in a spiky ponytail, tan skin, and dark/purple eyes. His outfit has a distinctive, somewhat Native American-inspired style, including a tan cloak-like vest with colorful trim, white ragged pants, black sandals, and a necklace strung with Poké Balls.

Personality-wise, Alder is wise, strong, and highly respected, but also very laid-back, carefree, and forgetful—he often naps, loses track of things, or acts recklessly (like charging in to handle dangers). He loves Pokémon deeply, emphasizes enjoying life and the bond between humans and Pokémon over pure strength, and takes a special interest in encouraging and inspiring young Trainers (such as Trip in a flashback from his childhood, or interacting with Ash and others).

His signature Pokémon shown in the anime includes his strong Bouffalant. Overall, he's portrayed as a wandering, mentor-like figure who values fun, friendship, and personal growth in the journey rather than just battling to win.
