Abigail

Abigail is a character in the Pokémon anime, specifically appearing in the Diamond and Pearl series episode "Cooking Up a Sweet Story!" (DP024).

She is an elderly woman who runs a bakery café in the Sinnoh region together with her niece, Theresa. Abigail is a skilled and renowned bake-off champion, famous for her delicious cakes that incorporate Aspear Berries toasted with electricity.

Her only known Pokémon is a Raichu (evolved from a Pikachu) nicknamed Sugar, whom she's had since it was a Pikachu. Sugar assists her in the bakery by using electric attacks to help prepare ingredients, and it has a distinctive habit of scratching its head with its tail.

In the episode, Sugar temporarily runs away to train and become stronger (eventually evolving into Raichu via a Thunder Stone), leading to a mix-up where Ash's Pikachu is mistaken for Sugar. Abigail is kind-hearted, clever (she sees through some deceptions), and motivational, rallying others to help against Team Rocket. She also briefly battles using strategy and shows care for her Pokémon partner.
