Kaoru Daichi

Kaoru Daichi is one of the main characters in the anime Ladies versus Butlers! (2010). She is the roommate and classmate of the protagonist, Akiharu Hino, in the servant-ed (butler training) division at Hakureiryō Academy.

In the anime, Kaoru presents as a highly skilled, cool, and handsome butler-in-training boy, complete with a refined demeanor that makes her extremely popular among the female students in the upper-class (ojou-sama) section—many admire her "maternal" or princely charm and mistake her for an ideal guy. However, she is actually a girl forced to cross-dress and live as a boy due to her strict father's demand that she graduate from the academy as a man.

This secret creates constant tension, especially since she shares a room with Akiharu. She's initially cold, stubborn, and distant toward him, often keeping her emotions guarded and worrying about her gender being exposed (particularly in awkward shared-living situations). Over time, she gradually warms up to him. Voiced by Rie Kugimiya in Japanese (known for her tsundere roles), her performance highlights Kaoru's mix of outward composure and inner vulnerability.
