Gen Asagiri is a key character in the Dr. Stone anime, introduced as a former famous mentalist and magician from the pre-petrification modern world. He was de-petrified early on by Tsukasa and initially works as a smooth-talking spy for the Tsukasa Empire, tasked with investigating Senku.
In terms of appearance (as shown in the anime), Gen is a slim young man (around 19 years old pre-petrification) with a distinctive bicolored hairstyle — the left side short and black, the right side longer and white — along with sharp, cunning eyes that often have a shadowed look. He typically wears a casual, hand-made yukata-style outfit layered with a lavender-pink overcoat, giving him a somewhat flamboyant, traditional-yet-adapted post-stone world vibe.
Personality-wise, Gen is incredibly charismatic, sly, and manipulative — a master of deception, psychology, and smooth talking (he often boasts about being the world's best at it). He starts off self-serving and untrustworthy, playing both sides with cunning tricks and lies, but he gradually defects to Senku's Kingdom of Science after being impressed by their progress and science. Despite his devious, teasing, and somewhat lazy nature (he avoids hard physical labor whenever possible), he proves loyal in his own way, using his "soft skills" in negotiation, strategy, misdirection, and reading people to support the group's goals.
He's voiced by Kengo Kawanishi in Japanese (and Brandon McInnis in English), and his eccentric, playful demeanor makes him one of the more entertaining and unpredictable allies in the series.
