Byakuya Ishigami

Byakuya Ishigami is Senku Ishigami's adoptive father in the Dr. Stone anime.

He is a kind, supportive, and very caring parent who encourages Senku's passion for science (even selling his own car at one point to fund Senku's experiments). Byakuya has a laid-back, carefree, and playful personality—he loves talking about poetry, fairy tales, and lighthearted things, which often contrasts with (and gets him playfully scolded by) the more serious, pragmatic young Senku. He's mischievous and always tries to keep a positive, amusing vibe going.

In terms of background shown in the anime, Byakuya is an astronaut who was aboard the International Space Station during the petrification event (along with a small crew), which is why he wasn't affected at first. He has brown eyes, white hair with darker tips (worn to about neck length), and a buzz-cut beard/mustache in his middle-aged appearance.

He appears mostly in flashbacks during Senku's childhood and in key moments tied to the larger story of humanity's survival and the founding of what becomes the Ishigami Village. Fans often praise him as one of the best "anime dads" for his loving and selfless nature.
