Dr. FRANXX

Dr. FRANXX (real name Werner Frank) is one of the central adult figures and the chief scientist in Darling in the FranXX.

He is the eccentric, elderly genius who designed both the FranXX mecha and the overall system that pairs male-female pilot duos (stamen-pistil) to operate them. He is recognizable by his long white hair, beard, distinctive hat, and cane, and he usually speaks in a theatrical, somewhat theatrical manner.

Dr. FRANXX is deeply obsessed with the concept of human reproduction, romantic/sexual love, and the mysterious Klaxosaur lifeforms. He views the children pilots as his "darlings" and often treats the entire parasitic child program as a large-scale experiment to explore human nature, intimacy, and the origins of life.

He's both creator of the current world order's most important technology and one of the few people who knows many of the hidden truths about humanity, the Klaxosaurs, and APE's real agenda.
