Hachi

Hachi (ハチ) is one of the key adult characters in Darling in the FranXX.

He is an APE-appointed supervisor and commander stationed at Plantation 13. Together with his counterpart Nana, he oversees the children (the parasite squad) living in the Birdcage, handling their training, FranXX piloting assignments, maintenance of the plantation, and enforcing APE's rules.

Personality-wise, Hachi is calm, composed, highly professional, and emotionally detached — he very rarely shows personal feelings or gets visibly shaken. He tends to speak in a flat, matter-of-fact tone and prioritizes protocol and efficiency above all else. While Nana occasionally shows more warmth or concern toward the children, Hachi remains consistently clinical and duty-bound throughout most of the series.
