9'α

9'α (also called Nine Alpha or Nain Arufa) is a character from DARLING in the FRANXX.

He serves as the leader of the 9's (or Nines), an elite special forces unit of Parasites directly controlled by APE. He's partnered with 9'ζ (Nine Zeta) and pilots the 9 Model FRANXX.

In appearance, he's a rather short young man with pale honey-blond hair (long bangs covering part of his face) and green eyes. He wears a distinctive white-and-gold Parasite uniform, unlike the standard gray ones.

Personality-wise, he initially appears calm, polite, and somewhat enigmatic/intelligent, but he's widely described as narcissistic, mischievous, brutally honest, lacking empathy toward most people (except his squad), and often smug or condescending. He holds controversial views, like finding human emotions, genders, and natural procreation repulsive, seeing them as unnecessary.

He's particularly interested in Hiro (due to his connection with Zero Two) and occasionally comments on others like Ichigo. Overall, he's portrayed as an antagonist-like figure among the Nines, often antagonistic toward Squad 13.
