Itsuki Kurogane is a supporting character (often portrayed as an antagonist) in Chivalry of a Failed Knight (also known as Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry). He is the father of Ikki Kurogane (the protagonist), Shizuku Kurogane, and Ouma Kurogane, as well as the current head of the prestigious Kurogane family.
He serves as the Branch Chief of the League of Mage-Knight Nations' Japanese branch, making him a high-ranking figure in the world's mage-knight system. Known by the nickname "Iron Blood" due to his extremely strict, duty-bound, and uncompromising personality, Itsuki prioritizes preserving the hierarchy and prestige of the mage-knight rankings and the Kurogane family's reputation above all else—including family bonds.
This leads him to treat his son Ikki (an F-Rank Blazer labeled a "failure") as essentially nonexistent, going to great lengths to suppress Ikki's presence and potential to avoid disrupting the established order. His actions stem from a harsh upbringing under his own conservative father, shaping him into a cold, rigid enforcer of tradition rather than a supportive parent. He has black hair (similar to Ikki's but styled differently with age showing through features like tear troughs) and a serious demeanor.
