Kisuke Urahara

Kisuke Urahara is one of the most important and popular characters in Bleach.

He's the former captain of the 12th Division and former president of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute. After being exiled from Soul Society over 100 years ago (due to events involving the Hōgyoku and the Visored), he runs a small, unassuming shop called Urahara Shop in the human world that sells Shinigami goods and supplies.

Personality-wise, Urahara is:

• Extremely intelligent and strategic (often called a genius)
• Laid-back, playful, and constantly joking/teasing people
• Speaks in a very polite but slightly eccentric manner
• Almost always seems to be several steps ahead of everyone else in his planning

Appearance: He usually wears a green-and-white striped bucket hat, a dark green haori over casual clothes, wooden sandals (geta), and carries a signature cane that hides his Zanpakutō.

His Zanpakutō is named Benihime ("Crimson Princess"), and its abilities are versatile, with both offensive and defensive techniques, often involving blood-themed attacks and barriers.

Urahara is widely regarded as one of the most powerful, knowledgeable, and cunning characters in the entire series, even though he usually acts silly and avoids direct fights whenever possible.
