Shunsui Kyōraku

Shunsui Kyōraku (also romanized as Kyoraku) is one of the most charismatic and laid-back captains in Bleach.

He is a tall, light-skinned Shinigami with grey eyes, long wavy brown hair (usually tied in a ponytail with bangs framing his face), and thin facial hair. He notably wears a pink, flowered lady's kimono draped over his captain's uniform and a signature straw hat (sugegasa), giving him a very flamboyant and distinctive look.

Personality-wise, Shunsui is relaxed, playful, and flirtatious — often seen drinking sake, napping, chasing after women (especially calling his lieutenant "Nanao-chan"), and speaking casually compared to other captains. Despite his easygoing, almost lazy demeanor and constant smile, he is deeply intelligent, strategic, and one of the oldest/most powerful captains. He prefers to avoid unnecessary fights and tries to talk his way out of conflicts when possible, but becomes extremely serious and capable when duty requires it.

He originally captains the 8th Division (with Nanao Ise as his lieutenant) before later becoming the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13.
