Ichigo Kurosaki

Ichigo Kurosaki is the main protagonist of the anime/manga series Bleach.

He is a tall, orange-haired (very distinctive bright orange) teenage boy who starts as a high school student in Karakura Town. Ichigo is brash, stubborn, fiercely protective of his friends and family, and has a strong sense of justice. He can be short-tempered and gets into fights easily, but he's deeply loyal and self-sacrificing.

Initially an ordinary human with unusually strong spiritual awareness (able to see ghosts), he becomes a Substitute Soul Reaper after receiving Shinigami powers from Rukia Kuchiki in a life-or-death situation. His signature weapon is the massive Zanpakutō named Zangetsu, which evolves dramatically throughout the series along with his own power-ups (Bankai, Hollowfication, Quincy heritage revelations, etc.).

In short: orange-haired, hot-headed, sword-swinging hero who keeps getting dragged into increasingly massive supernatural battles to protect the people he cares about.
