Erwin Smith

Erwin Smith is one of the most important and respected characters in Attack on Titan.

He is the 13th Commander of the Survey Corps, known for his exceptional strategic mind, unshakable resolve, and willingness to make extremely difficult (often brutal) decisions for humanity's survival. Erwin is tall, blond, and usually seen with a calm, calculating expression and distinctive eyebrows.

He is widely regarded as a visionary leader who truly believes in uncovering the truth about the Titans and the world beyond the walls, even if it means sacrificing countless lives to achieve that goal. His famous line, "My soldiers, rage! My soldiers, scream! My soldiers, fight!" captures his ability to inspire absolute loyalty and courage in his troops despite the near-certain death they face outside the walls.

Erwin is portrayed as cold and ruthless when necessary, yet he carries deep guilt and humanity beneath his composed exterior. Many consider him one of the most complex and well-written commanders in anime.
