Halley Astry

Halley Astry is a supporting character in Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor (also known as Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records).

He is a faculty professor at the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy, serving as the homeroom instructor for Class 1. Halley is depicted as a young adult man with blonde/light brown hair and yellow eyes (or sometimes described with black eyes in variations), typically wearing the standard academy instructor uniform.

In personality, he comes across as strict, arrogant, and somewhat jerkish—especially toward the protagonist Glenn Radars, whom he frequently criticizes as lazy, unqualified, or "third-rate." Despite this, he shows underlying care for the academy and its students, such as during major incidents where he fights to protect the school (earning him a "jerk with a heart of gold" vibe in some descriptions). He holds the mage rank of Quinde (Rank 5) and represents a more traditional, by-the-rules approach to magic education.

He's voiced by Shinji Kawada in Japanese and Christopher Wehkamp in the English dub.
