Varis

Varis (known as Revolver in the Japanese version) is a major character from Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS.

He is the leader of the Knights of Hanoi, a group of hackers determined to eliminate the Ignis (advanced AIs), viewing them as a dangerous threat to humanity. His real name is Roken Kogami (Ryoken Kogami in Japanese), and he is the son of Professor Kogami, the scientist responsible for creating the Ignis during the Lost Incident.

Varis serves as the primary antagonist in Season 1, acting as a skilled, ruthless, and strategic rival to the protagonist Playmaker (Yusaku Fujiki). He is a highly capable duelist who uses powerful dragon-themed monsters, including the "rokket," "Borrel," and "Topologic" archetypes. Over the course of the series, his role evolves, shifting from outright villain to more of an anti-hero in later seasons.

He is characterized by his cold, determined personality, strong sense of purpose driven by his father's legacy, and distrust of virtual worlds like LINK VRAINS and AI entities.
