August von Earlshide

August von Earlshide (often called Aug or Gus by friends) is the crown prince of the Earlshide Kingdom in the anime Wise Man's Grandchild (Kenja no Mago).

He's portrayed as a handsome young man with short blond hair and blue eyes. As the son of King Diseum, he attends the same advanced magic academy as the protagonist Shin Wolford, where they become close friends—developing a cousin-like bond due to the long-standing connection between Shin's adoptive grandfather Merlin and August's father.

Personality-wise, August is respected by his peers for being level-headed, fair-minded, and merit-based (valuing ability over social status, much like his father). He doesn't flaunt his royal influence unless truly needed. He's also known for his teasing and playful side, often enjoying watching Shin stumble in social situations or lightly ribbing him and even his little sister May, while still being supportive and acting as a more socially aware guide to the somewhat oblivious Shin. Overall, he's one of the kinder, more grounded characters in the series.
