Ake

Ake (エイク, Eiku) is a minor character in the anime adaptation of The Rising of the Shield Hero. He is a young Juvenile Knight (or junior/low-ranking soldier) of the Melromarc kingdom, appearing to be in his early teens (around 15 years old, as noted by Naofumi).

In the anime, Ake hails from Riyute Village and joins the knight squads sent to assist during the Waves of Calamity. He stands out as one of the few people in Melromarc who does not discriminate against the Shield Hero (Naofumi) or demi-humans, showing high morals and a genuine desire to protect civilians.

He feels indebted to Naofumi for helping save his home village during the Second Wave. Ake appears in scenes involving knight interactions with the heroes, including attempts to intervene or speak up against unjust actions toward Naofumi (such as during conflicts or false accusations). He has a few unnamed companions who share similar views, and at least one is a demi-human.

Overall, he's portrayed as an honorable, principled young soldier in a kingdom rife with prejudice, voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara (Japanese) and Aleks Le (English dub). His role remains supporting and limited compared to main cast members.
