Emilia Ludwell

Emilia Ludwell (also spelled Ludowell in some sources) is a supporting character in the anime adaptation of The Misfit of Demon King Academy.

She serves as the homeroom teacher for Anos Voldigoad's class (Class 1-2) at the Demon King Academy. As a pureblood royal demon from a prestigious lineage, she is extremely proud of her heritage and openly discriminates against mixed-blood (hybrid) demons, viewing them as inferior and unworthy of proper education. This prejudice leads her to clash with Anos and his allies early on, including an attempt to attack Anos' mother, Izabella, which results in severe consequences from Anos.

In the anime, she is depicted as a young adult woman with long light purple hair tied in a bun, pink eyes, and formal attire consisting of a black dress over a white blouse, red skirt, white shawl, and heels. She initially comes across as arrogant, strict, and elitist.

Over the course of the story (particularly in Season 1 and into Season 2), her character undergoes significant development. After her actions lead to a dramatic punishment and transformation by Anos, she is forced to experience life as a hybrid demon—the very thing she despised. This experience gradually humbles her, leading to reflection and redemption. She eventually leaves the Demon King Academy and takes on a teaching role at the Hero Academy in the human kingdom, where she continues to grow and finds a new purpose.

In the anime specifically, her punishment and death scene are toned down compared to the source material, but her overall arc remains focused on her shift from antagonist to a more sympathetic and reformed figure.
