Benimaru

Benimaru is a prominent character in the anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken), serving as one of Rimuru Tempest's most trusted and powerful subordinates.

He starts as the young leader (prince) of an ogre tribe. After his village is destroyed by orcs, he and the surviving ogres (including his sister Shuna) encounter Rimuru. Initially wary, they form an alliance, and Rimuru names him "Benimaru," causing him to evolve from an ogre into a kijin (a more refined, oni-like form). He then pledges lasting loyalty to Rimuru.

In his evolved form as shown in the anime, Benimaru appears as a tall (around 180 cm), lean, handsome young man in his early twenties with striking crimson hair, orange-red eyes, two prominent jet-black horns, and distinctive red tear-like markings running down from under his eyes across his cheeks. His skin has a slight reddish tint to match his fiery theme, and he often wears stylish clothing like a blood-red kimono-style outfit paired with a katana.

Personality-wise, he's confident, carefree, and excited in demeanor—often coming across as bold and eager for battle—but he's also quite cautious, cunning, and rational, especially in his role as a military leader. Over time, he matures from a somewhat hot-headed warrior into a calm, dependable commander.

He becomes the Minister of Defense and Commander-in-Chief of the Jura-Tempest Federation's military forces, one of Rimuru's top subordinates (often ranked among the strongest alongside Diablo and Zegion), and a key member of the Twelve Guardian Lords / Big Four. His combat prowess revolves around fire-based abilities, expert swordsmanship, and overwhelming strength.
