Franky Franklin

Franky Franklin is a recurring supporting character in the Spy x Family anime, serving as a key ally and informant to the protagonist Loid Forger (Twilight).

He runs a tobacco store as a front but is actually an intelligent, resourceful informant who supplies Loid with critical intelligence—such as details on Eden Academy's entrance exam and Anya's background records—to help advance Operation Strix. He also occasionally invents gadgets or provides other support, and he's one of the few people fully aware of Loid's true identity and the fake Forger family's situation. In the anime, he often babysits Anya (and later Bond) and gets roped into humorous scenarios, like play-acting as a villain for Anya's games or attempting (and failing) to disguise himself as a potential wife for Loid.

In terms of appearance, Franky has a distinctive, somewhat scruffy look: a square-shaped face, large curly blackish-brown hair, a short goatee, thick red-framed glasses, a single earring, and a casual yet semi-formal style (white shirt with rolled sleeves, orange tie, suspenders, etc.). Anya affectionately nicknames him "Scruffy" (or "Moja" in Japanese).

Personality-wise, he's laid-back, carefree, and genuinely kind-hearted—always willing to help Loid even in risky situations. He's money-motivated at times (haggling for rewards), frequently unlucky in love (crushing on women who reject him or are taken), and offers cynical but insightful advice about trust and survival in the spy world. He provides much of the series' comic relief through his exaggerated reactions, failed romantic pursuits, and banter with Loid, while still being a reliable and caring friend.
