Todd Snap

Todd Snap (known as Toru in Japanese) is a young, enthusiastic professional Pokémon photographer who appears in the Pokémon anime during the original series.

He's around 10 years old, just like Ash, and travels the world to capture photos of Pokémon in their natural habitats rather than forcing them to pose—he strongly prefers candid, authentic shots that show their true behavior and nature.

In the Kanto region, he temporarily travels with Ash, Misty, and Brock after initially clashing with them (he wanted to photograph Pikachu naturally, which caused some misunderstanding). He becomes friends with the group and helps foil a Team Rocket scheme before parting ways.

Todd is already somewhat famous in the anime for photographing rare or thought-to-be-extinct Pokémon like Aerodactyl. Later, in the Johto region, he reappears while pursuing leads on the legendary Articuno, successfully photographing it with Ash's help.

He's portrayed as adventurous (often heading into mountains or remote areas), passionate about his craft, and generally friendly once initial misunderstandings are cleared up. No major battles or Pokémon team—he focuses purely on photography.
