Professor Carolina

Professor Carolina is a Pokémon Professor who appears in the anime during Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl (specifically in the Sinnoh region arc). She is the grandmother of Sinnoh Champion Cynthia and serves as the head of the Celestic Town Historical Research Center, where she specializes in researching ancient Sinnoh legends, myths, and artifacts related to time and space (such as the Lustrous Orb and Adamant Orb).

In the anime, she's portrayed as an elderly woman with gray-blonde hair and a straightforward, outspoken personality. She's proud of her granddaughter's strength and accomplishments as Champion, and she even boldly encourages Ash to challenge Cynthia to a battle while noting that he'd need much more training to stand a chance. She plays a supporting role in episodes involving Team Galactic's schemes, the lake guardians, and the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia.

She first appears in episodes like "Losing Its Lustrous!" and "Double Team Turnover!", and she has a few later cameos tied to the larger Sinnoh legend plot.
