Lyra

Lyra (Japanese name: Kotone) is a recurring character in the Pokémon anime, specifically appearing in Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl (around the time of the HeartGold and SoulSilver game promotions).

She is a cheerful and energetic young Pokémon Trainer from New Bark Town in the Johto region. She travels with her friend Khoury and temporarily joins Ash, Dawn, Brock, and their group for a handful of episodes. Her debut is in the episode "An Egg Scramble!" where she participates in events like the Johto Festival and shows interest in Sinnoh's Pokémon and Contests.

Lyra has a bubbly, somewhat nosy and romantic personality—she enjoys matchmaking (like teasing about potential "grooms" for Dawn) and daydreams about her own ideal partner. She owns a Marill as her main Pokémon companion.

She was introduced mainly to promote the Johto remakes and only appears briefly before returning to her home region.
