Lalatina Ford Dustiness (Darkness)

Lalatina Dustiness Ford (commonly known as Darkness) is one of the main characters in KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!.

She is a Crusader (a heavily armored tank class) and the only daughter of the prestigious Dustiness noble family in the Kingdom of Belzerg. Despite her aristocratic background, she deliberately acts clumsy, overly polite, and somewhat ditzy in everyday life to hide her true nature.

Her most defining trait is extreme masochism — she gets visibly excited and aroused by the prospect of being humiliated, insulted, attacked, or physically abused in battle. She deliberately seeks out dangerous situations and powerful enemies, often begging monsters to "do terrible things" to her, much to the confusion and frustration of her party members.

In combat, Darkness is actually very competent at her job: she has extremely high defense and vitality, can draw enemy attention (taunt), and almost never dodges attacks on purpose. However, her attack accuracy is comically terrible, so she rarely lands hits despite swinging a massive sword.

Personality-wise she is:

• Kind-hearted and genuinely caring toward her friends
• Very formal and lady-like in speech (when not in masochistic mode)
• Deeply embarrassed about her fetish but unable to control it
• Loyal to a fault

She's usually addressed as "Darkness" by the party because she finds it embarrassing when people use her full noble name "Lalatina".
