Shu Starling

Shu Starling is Ray Starling's older brother and a highly experienced player in the VRMMO Infinite Dendrogram (in the anime adaptation). He's already deeply involved in the game when Ray joins, often guiding and supporting him as a mentor figure.

In the anime, Shu is portrayed as an easygoing, whimsical, and laid-back personality who loves making puns—especially bear-related ones—tied to whatever animal costume he's wearing. He almost always appears in a full teddy bear (or other animal) suit/costume as a disguise, since his avatar ended up looking exactly like his real-life self, and he uses it to hide his true identity.

He's a top-tier player known as the King of Destruction (a Superior Job), holding the #1 spot on the Kingdom of Altar's kill ranking and recognized as one of the kingdom's most powerful figures (part of the "Big Three"). Shu demonstrates immense strength and combat prowess, particularly in high-stakes battles where he unleashes devastating destructive abilities, often turning the tide dramatically.

Overall, he's a protective big brother with a fun-loving exterior masking serious skill and a strong fighting spirit.
