Hisashi Igou

Hisashi Igou (also spelled Igo or Igō) is a minor character in the anime/manga Highschool of the Dead.

He is a second-year student at Fujimi High School, the boyfriend of Rei Miyamoto, and a good friend/classmate of the protagonist Takashi Komuro.

In the early events of the story (episode 1 / chapter 1), Hisashi is one of the first people to witness and react to the zombie outbreak at school. He gets bitten while trying to escape with Rei and Takashi, turns into one of "Them" (the term he himself first uses to describe the undead, realizing they are no longer human), and is mercy-killed by Takashi to prevent him from attacking Rei.

His role is brief but serves as an important catalyst for the main group's formation and the shifting dynamics between Takashi and Rei. He is generally portrayed as calm, level-headed, and capable in the short time he's alive.
