Jellal Fernandes

Jellal Fernandes is a major character in Fairy Tail. He is a childhood friend (and implied love interest) of Erza Scarlet from their days as enslaved children in the Tower of Heaven.

He has distinctive blue hair and a prominent red tattoo marking above and below his right eye. Originally a kind, optimistic, and compassionate boy who inspired hope in his friends, his personality drastically changed after manipulation and possession by dark forces (believing it was Zeref's influence), turning him into a ruthless dark mage obsessed with reviving Zeref using the R-System.

After key events, including defeat, memory loss, and eventual recovery, he regains his original gentle nature and becomes a calm, mature, intelligent, and kind individual. He later co-founds and leads the independent guild Crime Sorcière, dedicated to atoning for his past and opposing dark threats like Zeref.

He's a powerful mage specializing in Heavenly Body magic (star-based spells like Grand Chariot, Meteor, and Altairis) and is often portrayed as a tragic, redemption-seeking figure.
