Irene Belserion

Irene Belserion is a powerful character from Fairy Tail, serving as one of the Spriggan 12 — the elite guard of Emperor Spriggan (Zeref) in the Alvarez Empire. She is known as the Scarlet Despair due to her overwhelming strength and is regarded as the strongest female mage in the empire.

She is a High Enchanter capable of infusing magic into objects, people, landscapes, and even the environment itself on a massive scale. Irene is also a Dragon Slayer (specifically a Sage Dragon Slayer) and was originally a human who became a dragon through Dragonification during ancient times. She is the creator of Dragon Slayer Magic and, crucially, the biological mother of Erza Scarlet.

Physically, she appears as a tall, voluptuous woman with long, thickly braided scarlet hair, often adorned with bows and ornaments. Her personality is confident, intelligent, prideful, and somewhat arrogant, with a complex mix of ruthlessness and hidden emotional depth tied to her tragic past and relationship with her daughter.
