Faust

Faust is a character from the Fairy Tail anime, specifically appearing during the Edolas arc.

He is the former king of Edolas (a parallel world to Earth Land where magic is scarce and mostly stored in items rather than inside people). Faust is the Edolas counterpart of Makarov Dreyar (they share similarities as confirmed by the creator).

He is portrayed as a cold, power-hungry, and ruthless ruler obsessed with restoring unlimited magic to his kingdom. To achieve this, he orchestrates the use of Anima — a massive interdimensional portal — to steal magic from Earth Land, even turning much of the Fairy Tail guild into a giant Lacrima crystal as part of his plan.

He is the father of Mystogan (the Edolas version of Jellal Fernandes) but disowns him. Faust pilots a powerful mechanical armor called Dorma Anim to amplify his strength in battle.

After his defeat and schemes fail, he is banished from Edolas, with Mystogan taking over as the new king. (Note: In the anime adaptation, he shows some regret and a slight redemption angle compared to the manga.)

He's a classic antagonist of that arc, driven by desperation for his dying world.
