Professor Kakuzawa

Professor Kakuzawa (often referred to as the Chief or Director Kakuzawa) is a major antagonist in Elfen Lied.

He is the elderly head of the research facility where Lucy and other Diclonius are imprisoned and experimented on. Publicly he presents himself as a dedicated scientist working to understand and possibly help the Diclonius species, but in reality he is driven by deeply sinister motives.

Kakuzawa believes he is part of a superior bloodline descended from Diclonius ancestors and sees himself as destined to father a new race of Diclonius to rule over humanity. His experiments are largely aimed at furthering this delusional goal rather than genuine scientific progress. He is manipulative, ruthless, and responsible for much of the cruelty inflicted on the test subjects.

He's one of the most coldly calculating and ideologically twisted human characters in the series.
