About Videl

Videl is a key supporting character in the Dragon Ball Z anime (primarily during the Great Saiyaman and Majin Buu arcs). She's the daughter of the famous (but comically boastful) Mr. Satan (Hercule in some dubs), and a skilled teenage martial artist in her own right.

In the anime, Videl starts off as a tough, headstrong, independent, and tomboyish high school girl with a strong sense of justice. She fights crime in Satan City as a vigilante, often assisting the police, and is feisty, stubborn, perceptive, and quick to call out nonsense or cheating (unlike her father). She's athletic, confident, and highly competitive, entering the World Martial Arts Tournament to prove herself.

Physically (in her main anime appearance during DBZ), she's depicted as a slim, fair-skinned young woman of below-average height with an athletic build, light blue eyes, and straight black hair—initially worn in low pigtails, but she famously cuts it short (to chin-length or a bob) after Gohan points out that long hair could get in the way during fights.

Her story arc revolves around meeting Gohan at Orange Star High School, quickly deducing his secret identity as the Great Saiyaman, blackmailing him into teaching her how to fly and use ki/energy, and developing a close (eventually romantic) relationship with him. She shows genuine growth, learning advanced techniques despite being a pure human with no Saiyan heritage. Later in the series (and into GT/Super), she becomes Gohan's wife and the mother of their daughter Pan, though her core personality in the classic DBZ anime is that of a fierce, crime-fighting tomboy rather than a more domestic role.
