Ikki Kurogane

Ikki Kurogane is the main male protagonist of Chivalry of a Failed Knight (also known as Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry).

He's a student at Hagun Academy, a school that trains Blazers (people who can use magic through special abilities called Devices). Despite coming from the prestigious Kurogane family, which has produced many powerful knights, Ikki was born with extremely low magical power and is ranked as an F-rank Blazer — the lowest possible. This earned him the mocking nickname "Worst One" or "Failure Knight", and he's treated as an outcast, even forced to repeat a year at school.

However, Ikki is an incredibly skilled swordsman who relies on pure physical technique, training, and determination rather than magic. His Device is a powerful katana called Intetsu, and he possesses exceptional combat instincts and the ability to push his body beyond normal human limits (through techniques like Ittō Shura).

Personality-wise, he's strong-willed, noble, caring, and selfless — often helping others despite how poorly he's been treated. He starts the story as the roommate of the prodigy princess Stella Vermillion, which kicks off much of the plot.
