Aki Hayakawa

Aki Hayakawa is one of the central characters in Chainsaw Man.

He's a serious, highly competent Public Safety Devil Hunter working in Makima's squad. Aki is a tall, handsome young man in his early-to-mid 20s with medium-length black hair usually worn in a topknot ponytail, and he almost always has a stoic, no-nonsense expression.

Personality-wise, he's calm, responsible, and professional on the surface, but carries deep grief and a burning desire for revenge after his entire family was killed by the Gun Devil when he was a child. This trauma drives almost everything he does.

He is a skilled swordsman who mainly uses a Fox Devil contract (summoning its head to bite enemies) and later gains additional powerful contracts, including with the Future Devil and the Curse Devil.

Aki serves as something of an older-brother figure (and occasional straight man) to Denji and Power, frequently exasperated by their chaotic behavior while quietly caring for them.

In short: cool-headed, tragic, vengeance-driven devil hunter with a ponytail and a very dry sense of humor when he lets it show.
