Red

Gideon Ragnason, better known by his alias Red, is the main protagonist of the anime Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside.

He was formerly a member of the legendary Hero's Party, which included his younger sister Ruti (the Hero herself), tasked with defeating the Demon Lord. Blessed with the "Sign of the Guide," Gideon started with a high level (over 30) that gave him an early edge as a knight, allowing him to lead and support the party effectively at first.

However, his Blessing provided mostly an initial boost rather than strong ongoing growth in combat or magic skills. As the other party members (with more powerful Blessings) leveled up and surpassed him, he fell behind and was seen as a liability. The party's Sage, Ares Srowa, convinced the group to banish him, stripping him of most equipment and leaving him with little.

Taking the name Red, he relocates to the remote frontier town of Zoltan, where he lives as a low-rank (D-rank) adventurer. He gathers and sells medicinal herbs, runs an apothecary shop, and pursues his dream of a peaceful, quiet life away from heroics and battles. In the anime, he's portrayed as kind, humble, capable (far stronger than most locals realize due to his past experience), honest, and content with his simple countryside existence, while still caring deeply about his sister's well-being from afar.
