Berserk of Gluttony

Berserk of Gluttony (also known as Boushoku no Berserk) is a dark fantasy anime (12 episodes, aired in Fall 2023) adapted from the light novel series.

In a world where people are born with unique magical skills that determine their status and power, the protagonist Fate Graphite is stuck with Gluttony, a seemingly useless skill that leaves him in constant, unbearable hunger and at the bottom of society. He's abused and looked down upon, working as a lowly gatekeeper for a noble family.

Everything changes when Fate kills a thief (or bandit) in self-defense. He discovers the true, hidden power of his Gluttony skill: it allows him to devour the souls, skills, stats, and strength of those he kills, absorbing their abilities and growing dramatically stronger while finally satisfying his endless hunger.

This awakens his potential, turning him from an underdog into someone who can rapidly level up and exceed normal limits. He sets out on a path of revenge against those who oppressed him, battles monsters and enemies, forms alliances, and uncovers darker secrets tied to his skill, his past, and larger conspiracies.

It's a classic power progression/revenge fantasy with action, some gore, and themes of overcoming abuse through overwhelming strength. If you like overpowered MC stories with a darker edge (similar to some isekai vibes but not isekai), it's right up that alley!
