Konno Yuuki

Konno Yuuki (also known simply as Yuuki) is a key character in the Sword Art Online anime, particularly featured in the Mother's Rosario arc (Season 2, episodes 18–24).

In the real world, she's a 15-year-old girl who has been terminally ill since birth due to AIDS (contracted through a medical accident involving blood transfusion). Confined to a hospital and using advanced VR technology (like the Medicuboid) to experience the outside world virtually, she maintains an incredibly bright, energetic, and optimistic personality despite her circumstances. She lives life to the fullest, valuing genuine connections and experiences.

In ALfheim Online (ALO), her avatar is a slim Imp with pale skin tinged purple, long purplish-black hair, and red eyes. She's an exceptionally skilled one-handed sword user, earning the title "Absolute Sword" (Zekken) after winning 67 consecutive duels without a loss. She leads the guild Sleeping Knights, a group of terminally ill players who aim to leave their mark by clearing a floor boss in New Aincrad and getting their names on the Monument of Swordsmen.

Yuuki is known for creating a powerful 11-hit Original Sword Skill called Mother's Rosario, which she later passes on to Asuna. Her story arc focuses on themes of living vibrantly in the face of mortality, friendship, and legacy, making her one of the most emotionally impactful characters in the series. She forms a deep bond with Asuna, viewing her almost like an older sister or mother figure.
