About Yor Forger

Yor Forger (née Briar) is one of the three main characters in the Spy × Family anime.

She is a strikingly beautiful, tall, and elegant woman in her late twenties with long black hair (often styled down or in a loose updo), striking red eyes, and a very graceful, feminine appearance that makes her stand out in a crowd.

To the outside world, Yor presents as a kind, polite, somewhat shy and socially awkward office clerk who works at Berlint City Hall in the capital of Ostania. She is gentle, soft-spoken, genuinely caring toward others, and tends to be self-deprecating—often worrying that she's not "normal" enough or that people will dislike her.

In reality, Yor is the highly lethal assassin known only as "Thorn Princess", working for a mysterious underground organization. She is an extraordinarily skilled combatant: superhumanly strong, fast, precise, and deadly with sharp weapons (especially long stiletto-like blades). Her assassin work is carried out with cold efficiency and almost no hesitation, creating a very sharp contrast with her gentle civilian personality.

Yor married Loid Forger (Twilight) in a mutually beneficial fake marriage—she needed a fake husband to avoid suspicion from coworkers and her younger brother Yuri, while Loid needed a wife for Operation Strix. She adores her adopted daughter Anya and is fiercely protective of her new family, even though she still doesn't know Loid is a spy (and he doesn't know she's an assassin).

Her most iconic traits in the anime include:

  • Her immense physical strength (she can accidentally break things or injure people without meaning to)
  • Her comically bad cooking skills
  • Her terrible alcohol tolerance (she gets drunk extremely quickly)
  • Her earnest desire to be a "good wife" and "good mother" despite being terrible at domestic tasks
  • The constant tension between her sweet civilian side and her terrifying assassin side

Overall, Yor is portrayed as a lovable, deadly, awkward, and deeply caring woman trying (and often failing) to live a normal family life while secretly being one of the most dangerous people in the country.
