Kanae Tawata

Kanae Tawata (also known as Tawata Kanae) is a Japanese S-Rank Hunter and a member of the Draw Sword Guild (sometimes referred to as the Blade Guild in adaptations). In the Solo Leveling anime, she appears as a supporting character, particularly during arcs involving international hunters and high-level raids like the events tied to Jeju Island and later Japanese-related crises.

She is depicted as a tall, slim, and athletic young woman with long dark purple (or black in some descriptions) hair, striking red eyes, dark purple lipstick, black fingernails, and prominent black tattoos covering her arms and part of her upper chest. Her overall look gives off a tough, edgy vibe, and she often wields dual katanas. In the anime adaptation, her outfit and armor design notably emphasizes a more revealing style compared to the original webtoon/manhwa (such as showing some cleavage in her battle attire).

Personality-wise, she's portrayed as stern, serious, and hotheaded at times, but she genuinely cares about her teammates' safety and well-being during dangerous operations. She's recognized as a capable and strong S-Rank hunter, especially in swordsmanship and combat prowess.
