Hwang Dongsuk

Hwang Dongsuk (also known as Hwang Dong-suk or Hwang Dongseok) is a minor antagonist in the Solo Leveling anime, appearing primarily in the early episodes involving a C-rank dungeon raid.

He is a C-rank Hunter who serves as a Tanker and leads his own raid party (sometimes referred to as a strike team). In the anime adaptation, he recruits Sung Jinwoo and Yoo Jinho (along with a few others) to fill out the required headcount for a dungeon run. Physically, he's depicted as a stocky, muscular man with spiky black hair, some facial hair, and visible scars, often wearing practical gear like a black shirt, gloves, pants, and partial armor.

His personality is selfish, arrogant, and ruthless—he's willing to betray and sacrifice weaker or temporary party members (like low-rank hunters) inside the dungeon to maximize loot for himself and his core group, showing no regard for their lives. This treacherous nature leads to a direct confrontation with Jinwoo, where his overconfidence and underestimation of others prove fatal.
