Goo Juntae

Goo Juntae (also romanized as Goo Jun-tae) is a minor antagonist in the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling, appearing primarily in Season 1 during the "Dungeon & Lizards" arc (around Episode 5, "A Pretty Good Deal," and leading into Episode 6).

He is a Korean C-Rank Hunter (though sometimes listed as D-Rank in sources) and a member of the strike squad led by Hwang Dongsuk. Juntae is portrayed as greedy, arrogant, and ruthless—perfectly willing to betray and murder weaker hunters (like Sung Jinwoo at the time) for personal gain, such as claiming mana crystals or loot.

In appearance (based on the anime), he has long, disheveled brown hair often tied in a ponytail with sideburns, giving him a rough, unkempt look. He fights with a sword, showing decent proficiency and teamwork against dungeon monsters like the giant ants/lizards early in the raid.

His role is brief but pivotal: he's part of the group that turns on Jinwoo, underestimating him as the "weakest hunter." This leads to him becoming the first human Jinwoo kills under the System's quest to eliminate the rogue hunters—Jinwoo decapitates him swiftly with a dagger, marking a key turning point in Jinwoo's growth and moral shift.
