Xerosic

Xerosic is a major antagonist in the Pokémon anime, specifically appearing in Pokémon the Series: XY and XYZ as the head scientist of Team Flare.

He is a pale, somewhat overweight man with distinctive orange (or red-toned) hair styled in an odd, spiky cut that resembles the Team Flare logo, along with a goatee. He wears orange goggles (often described as red in some sources), a small microphone headset on one ear, an orange suit and tie, shoes (unlike the boots worn by other Team Flare grunts), and typically has a rubber glove on one hand.

In the anime, Xerosic is portrayed as a mad scientist archetype—highly intelligent, arrogant about his inventions, and more overtly sadistic and ruthless compared to his game counterpart. He serves as a key subordinate to Lysandre, assisting in Team Flare's schemes, including efforts to capture Zygarde cells (like Squishy/Z-1) and advance their destructive plans for "beautifying" the world. He often deploys gadgets, control devices, and his Pokémon (notably a Malamar) in confrontations, and he has notable clashes with characters like Clemont over the purpose of science and technology.

After Team Flare's main defeat, he later resurfaces founding a splinter group called Team Neo-Flare in some episodes, continuing his obsessive research and villainy.
