Zanac Valleon Igana Ryle Vaiself

Zanac Valleon Igana Ryle Vaiself is the Second Prince of the Re-Estize Kingdom in the anime/light novel series Overlord.

He is the middle child of King Ramposa III — younger brother to the First Prince Barbro and older brother to Princess Renner. Physically, he is described as short, portly (somewhat overweight), with short blond hair, often giving an initial impression of being unimpressive or incompetent.

In reality, Zanac is far more capable than he appears at first: pragmatic, sensible, politically astute, and talented. He understands the true natures of complex figures like his sister Renner and Marquis Raeven. Initially portrayed as ambitious and seemingly scheming (including rivalries over the throne), he grows into one of the more respectable and responsible leaders in the decaying Kingdom.

He shows bravery and a genuine concern for his nation's survival, especially during its conflicts with the Sorcerer Kingdom, earning respect even from powerful figures like Ainz Ooal Gown in his final moments. Many fans consider him one of the most admirable and tragic human characters in the series — "the king the Kingdom needed but didn't deserve."
