Takeru Ooyama

Takeru Ooyama is the main protagonist of the Maken-ki! anime. He's a first-year student at Tenbi Academy (a formerly all-girls school that's now co-ed), having transferred in alongside his childhood friend Haruko Amaya after attending an all-boys middle school.

In the anime adaptation, Takeru is depicted as a teenage boy with red hair (an adaptation change from the manga's darker brown), styled short with the sides shaved close and a bit more volume on top/back. He initially wears glasses (which frequently get damaged or broken in comedic situations), though he eventually stops wearing them in the second season. His standard look is the Tenbi Academy boys' uniform: white shirt, green tie, blue pants, and black shoes.

Personality-wise, he's generally kind-hearted, helpful, and quick to jump in to protect others (especially girls), but he's also very perverted—often ending up in accidental "lucky lecher" moments due to clumsiness and impulsiveness. He tends to act before thinking, which frequently lands him in trouble (like getting punched by Haruko for his antics). Despite the ecchi comedy focus, he shows a strong sense of justice and grows through battles involving the school's Maken (magical weapon) system, where he wields abilities tied to his hidden power (like Blood Pointer).

Overall, he's your classic harem/ecchi protagonist: good-natured at heart but constantly caught in perverted mishaps amid action and school life.
