Haruko Amaya

Haruko Amaya is one of the main female protagonists in the Maken-ki! anime. She's a second-year student at Tenbi Academy, serving as the vice-president of the Student Council Security Division (Maken-ki).

As Takeru Ooyama's childhood friend, she has long harbored romantic feelings for him, though she often struggles to admit it openly. In the anime, she's portrayed as kind, caring, and highly popular among students due to her friendly nature and sense of responsibility. However, she has a tsundere side—quick to get jealous over Takeru's interactions with other girls, often reacting violently (like hitting him) to his perverted behavior while still being protective and affectionate toward him.

She wields one of the legendary original Eight Maken called Murakumo (a powerful sword), earning her the reputation as the strongest maiden at Tenbi Academy. Her abilities involve photon-based attacks with immense destructive power, though she initially has trouble fully unleashing it due to the weapon's seal.

Appearance-wise (as depicted in the anime), she has long purple hair typically tied in a high ponytail with a red ribbon, light blue eyes, and a very curvaceous, well-endowed figure that's frequently highlighted in the series' fanservice moments.

She shares a dorm room with Takeru, Inaho Kushiya, and Kodama Himegami, leading to plenty of comedic rivalry and tension over Takeru's attention. Voiced by Noriko Shitaya in Japanese (and Monica Rial in English dubs).
