Jered Gan

Jered Gan (also spelled Jared Gan or Jeredo Gan) is a character from the anime/light novel series Log Horizon. He is an Elf and a highly knowledgeable Archmage (or Great Mage/Scholar) among the People of the Land.

He serves as the eighth seat in the ruling Ten-Seat Council of Plant Hwyaden, the powerful guild that controls the city of Minami (the Kansai server equivalent to Akiba).

Jered Gan is the former master (mentor/teacher) of Li Gan (also known as Regan/ReGan), a Sage of Mirror Lake and magic researcher. He was previously a Sage of Mirror Lake himself before taking his position in Plant Hwyaden, where he contributes to magical research, historical knowledge, and technological/magical development (often portrayed with a mad scientist-like obsession for knowledge in certain story arcs).

He appears mainly in the later parts of the series (notably in season 2 of the anime and corresponding light novel volumes), as a supporting character aligned with Plant Hwyaden's leadership.
