Kyouya Mitsurugi

Kyouya Mitsurugi (often just called Mitsurugi) is a supporting character in KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!.

He's a Japanese high school student (like Kazuma) who died and was reincarnated into the fantasy world by Aqua, the goddess. Unlike Kazuma, he chose a powerful cheat item: the Cursed Sword Gram, which helped him become one of the top-ranked adventurers in the Kingdom of Belzerg (third place overall). He leads his own adventuring party, consisting of two female companions (Cremea and Fio).

Appearance: Mitsurugi is portrayed as a handsome, fit young man with a heroic look. In the anime, he has light/blonde hair and blue eyes, while the light novels describe him with light brown hair and dark eyes. He typically wears shining plate armor that gives off a classic "knight in shining armor" vibe.

Personality: On the surface, he embodies the stereotypical isekai hero — gallant, well-mannered, confident, chivalrous, hardworking, and full of a strong sense of justice. He's earnest about defeating the Demon King and respects Aqua as a proper goddess (which often annoys Kazuma's party). However, he's also quite narcissistic and self-absorbed beneath the heroic facade, seeing himself as the "chosen one" of the world, which makes him a perfect foil and occasional rival to the more cynical, pragmatic Kazuma.
