Maki Zenin

Maki Zenin is a major supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen and one of the main protagonists in the prequel Jujutsu Kaisen 0. She's a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Born into the prestigious Zenin Clan (one of the big three sorcerer families), Maki was heavily ostracized and treated as a failure because she was born with extremely low cursed energy—essentially none—making her unable to use typical jujutsu techniques like most sorcerers. This led her to leave the clan and pursue becoming a powerful jujutsu sorcerer through sheer physical ability, mastery of cursed tools, and relentless hard work and training.

She's depicted as tall and athletic with long dark hair (often in a ponytail) and sharp features. Personality-wise, Maki is headstrong, independent, straightforward, and incredibly strong-willed. She refuses to rely on others, has a no-nonsense attitude, and is driven by a desire to prove herself and eventually overhaul or surpass the toxic expectations of her clan. Despite her tough, sometimes cold exterior, she shows loyalty and care toward her allies.
