Dr. Brief

Dr. Brief (also called Dr. Briefs in some dubs) is a supporting character in the Dragon Ball anime. He's the elderly, brilliant, and somewhat eccentric father of Bulma (and older sister Tights in extended lore), as well as the founder and head of Capsule Corporation — the incredibly advanced company responsible for inventing the revolutionary Hoipoi Capsules (Dynocaps in some versions), which can shrink almost any object or vehicle into a tiny, portable capsule form.

In the anime, he's portrayed as one of the world's smartest and wealthiest people, living in a luxurious home/lab in West City with his wife (often called Mrs. Brief or Bikini) and a huge collection of pets — including dogs, cats, and even a few small dinosaurs he's taken in. He's easygoing, friendly, and extremely laid-back, often staying calm and cheerful even in dangerous situations (like refusing to evacuate during major threats because he doesn't want to leave his animals behind). He has a particularly close bond with his black cat, who frequently perches on his head or shoulder.

His role is mostly cameo-like — providing comic relief, tech support for Bulma's inventions, or background family moments — but his genius indirectly enables much of the series' technology and travel.
